Here Are The 6 Most Enchanting, Magical Christmas Towns Around Portland
Now that Thanksgiving leftovers are neatly stored in your fridge, it is time to go full throttle into the holiday season. If you are looking to have a little festive holiday fun, these are six cities that celebrate the season right. With parades, tree lightings, festivals, and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Klaus, these are the places to go to kick off your holiday right.
1. Oregon City
A tree lighting ceremony, a year-round farmer's market, and the crowd-drawing Christmas Fantasy Trail make Oregon City a great place to get into the Christmas spirit. The tree lighting takes place on December 6th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
2. Hood River
Hood River goes all out for the holiday season, complete with this fun parade, a tree lighting ceremony and Christmas caroling. The parade and fun takes place December 2 from 4 to 7 pm.
3. Lake Oswego
A Christmas tree lighting kicks off the holiday season, and the fun continues all month long with the magical Christmas Ships parade coming to town on December 17th.
4. Beaverton
The library is not the only place to get into the holiday spirit in Beaverton, though they do a pretty good job there too. A Christmas tree lighting and German holiday Market help bring the cheer to town as well. The festival takes place at the Beaverton City Library on December 2nd from 10 am to 9 pm with the tree lighting at 7 pm.
5. Milwaukie
The Annual Umbrella Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony kick off the holiday season, and a mid-December running of the Christmas Ships Parade make the city a perfect place to get into the Christmas spirit. The fun starts at City Hall on December 3 at 4 pm.
6. Sherwood
Sherwood ushers in the holiday season with a Winter Festival and Tree Lighting, which includes a parade and choral celebration. The festival begins at Cannery Square December 3 at 4 pm.
