In my opinion, the holiday season is the perfect time to explore Oregon. There is something so magical about seeing all the decorations, excited kids, and fabulous lights! Many small towns and cities come alive with the Christmas spirit. Any one of them can make a wonderful day trip or weekend getaway for the whole family. Here are some of our favorite Christmas towns to visit in Oregon that are sure to fill your heart with holiday magic.

1. Hood River

This is a fabulous spot to visit during the Christmas holidays. This always lively small town along the Columbia River really twinkles during this festive season.

2. Sumpter

Be sure to browse the Sumpter Christmas Bazaar and ride the Sumpter Valley Railroad Christmas Train with Santa!

3. Newport

Newport is an Oregon town that overflows with holiday spirit. Local events include the Oregon Coast Aquarium's Sea of Lights. You can also enjoy the Holiday House Arts & Crafts Sale.
