I Asked Our AI-Travel Planner For a Weekend Adventure in Syracuse – Here’s What It Created
With the help of our AI Travel Planning Dashboard, I decided to use it to plan a trip to Syracuse, NY. Here are the results.
While I love traveling, I often get overwhelmed while researching what to do when planning a trip to a destination. With the advent of our AI Travel Planning Dashboard, I decided to use it to plan a trip to Syracuse, NY. I have been to this city once before, but just for an overnight stay on the way to Canada; I've wanted to return to Syracuse and explore it this time. Given the information I was asked and my answers, the AI tool developed a rather interesting plan for a weekend getaway. Let's take a look at the results.
Creating an Itinerary
The Travel Planner is relatively easy to use. You're prompted to enter your destination, length of stay, the month you intend to travel, who you're traveling with, and you will choose from a set of interests. It took me less than 30 seconds, and within about 15 seconds, my itinerary was populated for a weekend getaway in July with my partner. Here are the results:
What to Do
Three options were given for this romantic weekend in Syracuse. The first one, Sycamore Hill Gardens, is where I could see my boyfriend and I walking hand-in-hand as we stroll through fragrant gardens filled with colorful blooms. The next spot is Pratt’s Falls Park, where we can take a leisurely scenic hike to an impressive 137-foot waterfall. The option I was most excited for was Green Lakes State Park, where we could go for a paddle on one of its two lakes, play a round of golf, and dine at Brian's Landing, a restaurant in the state park.
Where to Eat
When traveling, I often become indecisive when choosing where to dine, so I typically ask a local for the best spots. For now, the AI Travel Planner offered me a few interesting options, including two spots for sweets. I love cookies, so Cathy’s Cookie Kitchen is up my alley. With so many mouthwatering options like caramel pretzel, cookies 'n' cream, and butterscotch oatmeal, I feel like we would have to order a few. This cookie shop has gluten-free and vegan options as well. Another sweets shop, Glazed and Confused, is a fun option for creative donut flavors like The Dizzy Pig with a maple glaze, bourbon sugar, and candied bacon or the Cereal Killer vanilla cake donut with a honey glaze and cereal topping. Perhaps we will grab breakfast from here one morning.
The Travel Planner also suggested Funk n’ Waffles, where you can get all sorts of waffles throughout the day. From the Chicken Parm Waffle to a Monte Cristo, Falafel Waffle, Banana Bread Belafonte, and many more, I feel like we will want to try them all. This place also hosts concerts, so it would be a great date night destination for food and entertainment.
Pastabilities, the final suggestion, seems like a classic Italian restaurant with romantic lighting, perfect for a memorable dinner. We would certainly make a reservation here to enjoy some wine and a variety of Italian dishes like the Bruschetta Rosa and the Fra Diavolo Shrimp & Scallop Scampi.
Where to Stay
The Travel Planner gave me one option, albeit a great one: the Hotel Skyler Syracuse, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Housed in what was once a Jewish temple built in 1920, this hotel exudes historic charm while providing a quiet and luxurious stay. On-site is a 24-hour fitness center and a restaurant. It's also an environmentally friendly option as it's one of the country's first LEED-certified hotels. I think this would be great for a romantic getaway with my partner.
AI-Travel Planner Review
Honestly, I think this AI Travel Planner Dashboard did a fantastic job choosing things to do, where to dine, and where to stay. These were options that I don't think I would have come up with on my own. What do you think? Will you give the planning tool a try?
