Established in 1974, this museum displays railroad artifacts and information about the railroad industry. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 2. The Old Hickory Railroad
This 6.2-mile train ride in Louisiana will take you back in time to remember the historic Clinton-Port Hudson railroad which was established in 1833.
There's also an exciting mini-train display that both kids and adults will enjoy.
3. City Park Train Ride, City Park, New Orleans
When it comes to Louisiana train rides, this one sparks a wave of nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the Greater New Orleans Area. Part of the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, the City Park Train Ride is a sweet little ride throughout the amazing and iconic New Orleans City Park. When the Christmas lights are on in City Park, it’s even better!
4. The City of New Orleans Train
This Amtrak train takes riders through the middle of the country, traveling 700 miles from Chicago to New Orleans and catching some truly amazing scenery in the state of Louisiana along the way. You'll also pass through Memphis during the 20-hour train ride.
5. New Orleans Streetcar
There are a few different streetcars that'll show you around New Orleans. The St. Charles Streetcar, in particular, is worth a ride since it's the oldest continually operating streetcar line in the United States and takes you down one of the most beautiful avenues in the entire Country—St. Charles Ave.
6. The Amtrak Crescent
The Amtrak Crescent train makes its way from New Orleans to New York daily and gives its riders amazing views of Louisiana and many other southern states.
