This Epic One-Day Road Trip Across Connecticut Is Full Of Adventures From Sunrise To Sunset

We love lengthy road trips in Connecticut, but there’s also something to be said about a single day of fun. If you’re looking to spend the whole day enjoying the Nutmeg State, we’ve got just the sunrise to sunset in Connecticut day of exploring for you. You'll discover some of the best places to see the sunrise in Connecticut.

The total drive time is less than an hour, so this won't take you all day and you'll be home before bedtime! You'll get to catch both a sunrise and a sunset on two different beaches, and have plenty of time to relax at each destination before heading to the next.

1. Silver Sands State Park

The Silver Sands State Park area is one of our favorite places to catch a sunrise in Connecticut. We don't know that there's anything more magnificent than watching the daybreak from the beach!



Note that the Silver Sands parking lot doesn't open until 8 am, so you will need to park elsewhere and walk a few blocks to reach the beach. The views are more than worth the effort, though. You've got plenty of time to chill at the beach before your next stop, so relax for a while. The park features plenty of areas for walking.

2. Nordic Fish

Since we're having a beach day, why not enjoy delicious seafood for lunch? Nordic Fish has an array of fresh seafood choices, but today we'll be picking up some sushi. Nordic Fish also serves build-your-own poke bowls that have vegetarian offerings.

3. Greenwich Point Park

Once you're all filled up on seafood, head on over to Greenwich, where we'll be visiting Greenwich Point Park. The Tod's Point section of the park is one of the best places to catch a sunset in Connecticut. The views here are amazing! This is the perfect ending to a fun-filled day that doesn't require a lot of planning, time, or expense. And what better way to round out a sunrise to sunset roadtrip than with a luminous sunset over Tod's Point.
