Alexander Valley offers all sorts of guided tours for those who'd like a deeper insight into one of California's most iconic wine regions. One of these tours is the Vineyard Hike, which takes place at 10:30 am Monday through Saturday
During the hike, you'll get an insider's view at the winery's breathtaking vineyards while tasting their very best wines right where they grow. After the hike, you'll have an opportunity to relax and take in the wondrous views while dining on a boxed lunch.
The tour is also a fascinating insight into the vineyard's rich history. During the hike, you'll pass by the working winery, the original 1868 Alexander Valley school, and the Alexander homestead.
The walking tour is pretty easygoing, although you will traverse some hills and dirt trails. The views are well worth the effort, though, and you'll quickly understand why the Alexander Valley is known as "the brightest and best spot in Northern Sonoma".
