Fall Is The Perfect Time To Visit This Historic Mountain Town In Arkansas

We’ve got just the place for your next fall adventure – Paris! No, we’re not talking about the city in France. We’re talking about Paris, Arkansas. A historic town nestled at the base of Mount Magazine, it’s brimming with recreational opportunities and immense beauty year-round, especially in the fall.

Paris is a small town with a lot to offer, especially when it comes to natural beauty. Not only is it situated near the Arkansas River in the Ozark Mountains, but it’s touted as the “home of Mount Magazine.”

One of the state’s most recognizable sites, Mount Magazine is the highest point in Arkansas. It’s also the centerpiece of Mount Magazine State Park.

A year-round favorite of outdoor enthusiasts, the park offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, backpacking, and ATV riding.

It’s particularly stunning in autumn, when Mother Nature paints the park’s landscape with hues of gold, red, and orange.

Mount Magazine isn’t Paris’ only claim to fame, though. The town is also known for its diverse industry and rich history.

And thanks to several museums, you can learn all about Paris’ past.

The Old Jail Museum, Coal Miners Museum, and Arkansas Wine Museum are among the top museums in Paris.

The historic downtown is another place visitors can get a peek at the Paris of yesteryear. Many of the buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Don’t assume downtown Paris is stuck in the past, though. Now a thriving commercial district, it’s filled with eateries, boutiques, and antique shops - many of which are decorated for the holidays, including fall.

It’s also where you’ll find a 25-foot Eiffel Tower. Not surprisingly, the replica of the famous French landmark is a highly sought after photo-op in Paris.
