Gruene, Texas is full of whimsical wonders, so it’s no wonder that it’s one of the top day trip destinations in the Austin area. The next time you’re itching to get out of dodge for a while, stroll over to this tiny street in New Braunfels. You’ll come across gorgeous restaurants, historic landmarks, and magnificent art. Nothing beats this unassuming rustic boutique, however. Tucked away in an old-fashioned wooden building, The Barn has sold stunning handmade pottery for over 30 years. There’s so much more to this unique barn than meets the eye.

It's hard to resist this rustic, Texas charm. Despite its simple architecture, The Barn stands with immense beauty.

The bright interior glistens with handmade pottery. You can't find goods like these anywhere else.

The Barn champions artists from across the region, and you can gape at their works all throughout the store. Whether you like things intricate and elegant or rustic and down-to-earth, you'll find something that suits your style.

In addition to selling amazing works of art, The Barn also has a working studio in the back. Pop by and watch the ceramic-making process. The resident artists are there seven days a week throwing, glazing, or loading the kiln.

Owners Kyle and Angie purchased this business from Angie's aunt and uncle Dee and Terry Buck. Though the Bucks no longer run the business, you can still browse their pottery inside the gallery.

Kylie and Angie White work alongside The Barn's production potter, Rick Buch, to continually provide high-quality ceramics.

There are so many creative treasures to discover. The Barn fits in beautifully with Gruene's lively artistic culture.
