Children seem to have something that we adults tend to have lost along the way: a sense of wonder and awe. Watching their little faces light up over places we can be too busy to realize should let us know they are on to something. Well, there is an enchanted forest-themed playground deep within Dollywood that should not be overlooked. Slowing down and entering into this world of splendor could invoke that lost childlike wonder in us all, and make you feel like a kid all over again.
Dollywood is a go-to destination for families looking for a vacation in the Smoky Mountains.
This theme park has been rated number one in many categories over the years and it is easy to see why. Between the thrill rides, professional shows, and amazing food, you can spend all day at Dollywood. The fun you have at the park will have you will longing to go back on your next trip.
With all of the roller coasters and many other big attractions, there is a section of the park that may have slipped your attention. In a little area called Wildwood Grove, you will find fun nature-themed rides like the Black Bear Trail or The Mad Mockingbird.
A large archway will lead you to Hidden Hollow. Once the automatic sliding doors open, it’s like you are transported from a theme park to a hidden forest fantasy. The name is very fitting because this hidden gem in the park feels simply enchanting.
Projectors will shine a light on the walls illuminating them in a calming golden glow with silhouetted trees that almost appear to gently swaying in the breeze.
Hanging from the ceiling you will find mason jars with little blinking lights flickering on and off. These lights bring to mind collecting fireflies in a jar as a kid. The sounds draw you even further into the scene. Alongside children happily laughing you will hear birds chirping and squirrels chattering loudly in the trees above. The entire room is incredibly immersive.
For the busy little climber in your life, this playground is a dream come true. Climbing along the tunnels, hopping across the infinity floor, or sliding down the multiple slides is enough to keep any child busy for hours!
