10 Hotels With Breathtaking Ocean Views Along the Oregon Coast

Enjoy breathtaking views and cozy accommodations on the Oregon Coast with these stays from Kayak.

The Oregon Coast is my happy place. I love visiting the many towns, state parks, waterfalls, and other attractions that dot this beautiful area of the country. In fact, I have driven the entire Oregon Coast along Highway 101. It was not only inspiring and breathtaking, but I ended the trip feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to step back into real life. Along this multi-day road trip, I stayed at several hotels along the coast, many that offer epic ocean views.

The following are 10 hotels along the Oregon Coast that I recommend, and each destination will certainly leave you impressed.

1. Driftwood Shores Resort, Florence

  • Best Room Type: Deluxe King Suite or a Three-Bedroom Suite

  • Top Amenities: Indoor pool and children's pool, dog-friendly rooms, and private outdoor patios or balconies

When you stay at the Driftwood Shores Resort in Florence, you know you will have an incredible view as every room faces Heceta Beach, one of my favorite beaches in Oregon. This means that right from your room you can watch wildlife playing in the ocean and capture incredible sunrises and sunsets. And when you want to explore the town of Florence and surrounding region, you are just a short drive away from the Heceta Head Lighthouse and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.

The Inn at Arch Rock is the type of place where you’ll feel right at home. This historic inn has a homey vibe that exudes comfort. It is located on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, offering incredible views, and is the perfect place to relax, especially during the whale migration. After all, Depoe Bay is one of the best whale-watching destinations along the Oregon Coast. This hotel has 19 rooms, and each one is a little different, but all have plenty of amenities to create the perfect stay.

There is so much to love about Lincoln City such as its incredible restaurants, art galleries, and beaches. This is a town where you can stay for several days, especially if you book a stay at the family-owned Coho Oceanfront Lodge. This hotel is within walking distance of many town attractions and when you want to enjoy some solitude while watching the waves crash on the shore, you can enjoy the views from the hotel’s outdoor fire pits. There are also several room options, including an adults-only section where children and pets are not allowed.

  • Best Room Type: Corner King Sunlight Top Floor Suite or one of the luxury cottages

Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa is the type of place that you never want to leave. It has dozens of amenities to create a cozy getaway with beautiful suites, guest rooms, and cottages for the entire family. Pacific City is also the perfect place to set up base camp or simply explore as it’s full of outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, and horseback riding. I recommend having a picnic at either Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area or Bob Straub State Park during your stay in this Oregon town.

6. Three Arch Inn, Oceanside

  • Best Room Type: Deluxe Corner King
  • Price Point: $$
  • Top Amenities: Quiet environment, beach access across the street, cafe on bottom floor

I feel like I’m sharing my greatest secret by mentioning the Three Arch Inn in Oceanside. I’ve stayed at this quaint, small inn and it’s one of my favorite places to spend the night in Oceanside, Oregon. This is a self-service inn with just six rooms. Each room is quite different but all six options offer incredible ocean views and plenty of amenities. The beach is across the street and Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint is just a short drive away. Here, you can hike to the incredible octopus tree and the Cape Meares Lighthouse.

7. Surfsand Resort, Cannon Beach

  • Best Room Type: Beachfront King Suites and Beachfront Patio King Rooms
  • Price Point: $$
  • Top Amenities: Welcome beverages, pool, hot tub, downtown shuttle, daily cookies, and Friday night local beer tastings

Surfsand Resort has been a favorite place to set up base camp in Cannon Beach since 1977. This oceanfront hotel offers views of incredible rock formations like Haystack Rock and has a long list of amenities to make your stay convenient and comfortable like a downtown shuttle, fresh baked cookies, and a welcome beverage. One of the things I love most about Seashore Inn on the Beach in Seaside, Oregon, is its prime location. This 54-room, oceanfront hotel is located on the famous Promenade, and it’s just a short walk to the many shops and restaurants that make Seaside so special. If you are up for a fun adventure during your stay, put on your best hiking shoes and explore the Tillamook Head Trail, a hike that is approximately six miles and takes you from Seaside to Cannon Beach.

10. Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa, Astoria

  • Best Room Type: Pilot House or a Deluxe King or Queen Room
  • Price Point: $$$$

Yes, I know that the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa doesn’t offer ocean views but it does provide some of the most breathtaking views of the Columbia River and I had to include it on this list. When visiting the beautiful town of Astoria, there’s no place better to set up your base camp. This hotel is unique as it’s located 600 feet in the Columbia River, and every room offers both breathtaking views of the river and the historic Astoria-Megler Bridge. After a day of exploration and play, you can relax at the on-site spa or spend time at Bar 600, the bar located in the hotel's lobby. It’s true bliss.
