Wabasha is a small, historic town in southeastern Minnesota. It was first platted in 1854, making it one of the oldest towns in the state.
Because Wabasha is so old, it makes sense that it is home to the state's oldest hotel. The Anderson House Hotel is a beautiful hotel in Wabasha, Minnesota. You'll find it at 333 Main St. W, Wabasha, MN 55981.
The Anderson House Hotel was first built in 1856. It became known for the cats you could "check out" to accompany you during your stay. Sadly, the hotel closed in 2009.
Two years later, the hotel reopened under new ownership, reclaiming its place as Minnesota's oldest hotel.
The new owners remodeled the rooms. Today, they are clean and bright while retaining historic charm.

But a 163-year-old hotel must have a few secrets, right? An article in the Winona Daily News suggests spirits haunt the old inn.
In fact, the previous owners held several paranormal investigations. One came back negative, but two did suggest a supernatural presence in the hotel.
