This Cottage Is a Quiet Retreat Near Acadia National Park

If you have ever visited or even seen photos of Acadia National Park, you know it is a breathtaking wonder to behold. This stunning natural area is a top Maine tourist attraction and one of the country’s most popular national parks. With 158 miles of hiking trails, diverse trees and wildlife, and an abundance of year-round outdoor activities, it is easy to see why Acadia is considered to be a national treasure.

A visit to Acadia has been on my long-term bucket list for some time now. I’m not sure why I haven’t made the trek already, but I’m hoping this is the year to do so. I’m so excited about this adventure that I’ve already started searching for local rentals near Acadia and have recently stumbled across a fantastic property. The Whitetail Cottage in Trenton, Maine, is an ideal spot to enjoy a bit of nature near the park.

This fabulous rental is a peaceful retreat for couples or a small group of guests. The comfortable yet modern one-bedroom cottage is just under seven miles from Acadia, making it the perfect place to start or end a day of adventuring. Although this home is just a few years old, it has quickly become popular with guests who enjoy its proximity to the park.

Not only is the cottage’s location ideal, but it is also tranquil and peaceful. The natural surroundings change with the seasons, and guests are often witnesses to visits by deer, owls, and other local wildlife. 

One of my favorite things about the Whitetail Cottage is its comfy living room. With a gas stove and amazing views of the scenic outside area, this section of the home is a cozy place to relax and unwind. The room also has a dining area where you can enjoy a meal prepared in the full-size kitchen or delicious take-out from one of the local lobster pounds. 

If you want to venture beyond the national park, there are many other things to enjoy while vacationing there. The charming coastal town of Bar Harbor and picturesque Mount Desert Island are just miles away.
