I'm going to say something that might be mildly controversial: Kansas is for lovers. Yeah, I know the phrase is usually different, but I think Kansas is tragically underrated, especially when it comes to romance. It's an amazing state to escape to with someone you love and the options for places to stay are seemingly endless.

I've compiled a short list of some of my all-time favorite romantic Airbnbs in Kansas that make for the perfect jumping-off points for an idyllic getaway with anyone your heart sets on. From incredible views to vineyards and stunning lakeside vacation rentals, you never know what you'll find - let's dive in.

1. A Country Vineyard Retreat - Lawrence

Overlooking the breathtaking Wakarusa Valley near Lawrence, this incredible vacation home rental in Kansas is perfect for an idyllic escape with your person. I mean, wine is romantic, right? Have you ever been glamping? Glamping is like camping but... a step up. Think of it as camping with a resort-style flair. 4. A-Frame with a Hot Tub - Manhattan

This magnificent A-frame cabin rental in Manhattan, Kansas, is easily one of my all-time favorite places to stay in the Sunflower State. This cabin is the epitome of tranquility and is perfect for couples. Spend your days exploring Tuttle Creek Lake and then spend the nights stargazing with your person while soaking in the hot tub on the deck. If you've never tried the hot tub/cold air combination, it's amazing. And it's plenty romantic, too.

5. An Incredible Mansion - Topeka

For those who prefer plenty of space (or those who need to bring the kids along), this wondrous vacation home rental in Kansas is located in Topeka and makes for an absolutely incredible escape from the real world. It's huge, with three king-sized bedrooms (including a room specifically for the youngsters) and stunning views of Lake Sherwood. The neighborhood is quiet, and the enormous deck is the perfect place to hold hands with your love and watch the sun go down... or come up.

6 A Woodland Camping Adventure - Manhattan

Last on this list, but by no means 'least' in any way, this romantic glamping experience in Manhattan, Kansas, sleeps just two and features a queen-sized bed with electricity and a delightful soaking pool for the warmer months (and a fire pit for the colder months).
