There's nothing cooler than a building finding new life as a new business. It's so neat to visit a bar or restaurant that was once a gas station or old general store - it almost feels like a peek back in time! All too often, it seems like these historic buildings are razed to the ground for new construction, and it feels like such a waste. We love to see new energy breathed into these old structures. If you're a fan of buildings with a second life, we think you'll love the spot we're featuring today. Merchants Pub & Plate is housed in what was once a historic bank, but now it's a popular gastropub that serves as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike who happen to be in downtown Lawrence, Kansas.
