Sometimes we don't have the energy to travel all over looking for different things to do. Ideally, we'd have one place perfect for a few different things that leaves us with more time to relax and enjoy it. This park in Kansas doesn't mess around, it has everything you need for a day or even week-long trip into nature. Come see it for yourself!
Welcome to the gorgeous Kanopolis Lake State Park, where you can enjoy a little bit of everything during your visit.
First, you can enjoy primitive camping at one of their campgrounds, or the beautiful cabins that let you camp out without being too close to the ground.
Next is the amazing hiking and horse trails throughout the park. Everyone's favorite has to be Horsethief Trail, and for more than beauty, too.
Horsethief trail is not only one of the most beautiful in the state, but also the home to a few caves perfect to sit inside for a short while along your hike.
This one in particular has been eroded into the shape of a slide, and is perfectly smooth inside. It's also a great spot to look out over the park.
The park is best experienced February through October, though it's still gorgeous covered in snow. Between all the fishing, camping, hiking, and cave exploring you can do all year, we'd say there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back for more.
