7 Hometown Kansas Restaurants You Need To Cross Off This Summer
Discover seven must-visit restaurants in Kansas to add to your summer bucket list.
I hope you're hungry this summer, because we've got a few additions to your upcoming plans. Grab your bucket list, because it's about to get a little more full after we add these amazing hometown Kansas restaurants. Stop in sometime and grab a bite for yourself!
1. Josie's Ristorante
Josie's is a favorite spot to eat good food with friends anytime you're near Scammon, especially if you love Italian food. You come for the food, but you definitely leave feeling like you have a new favorite stop during your Kansas travels. Address: 400 N Main Street, Scammon, KS 66773
2. Renaissance Cafe
Just like Josie's, the Renaissance Cafe also draws you in with the promise of amazing food. It looks a little more high class than you'd expect in such a small town, but their Kansas hospitality and flavor is just like you'd expect. Everything delicious, and everything worth trying at least once. Address: 210 N Center Avenue, Assaria, KS 67416
3. The Kettle
The Kettle is a little new to us, but one bite from their food and you'll feel right at home. No matter what you order, they've got a beer to go with it, and you'll find yourself making friends before you know it. Address: 204 S Mill Street, Beloit, KS 67420
4. Fly Boy Brewery
If you're a fan of home cooked meals and a little bit of airplane history, this spot is perfect for you. Hiding out in Sylvan Grove, there's nothing they make that I didn't eat as a kid at some point. It feels just like home every time. Address: 8135, 105 N Main Street, Sylvan Grove, KS 67481
5. Big Ed's Steakhouse
Just like the name implies, Big Ed's is one great place for a hunk of meat. Their steak and fries is a classic dish that I recommend for anyone going for the first time. Address: 611 N Galveston Street, Thayer, KS 66776
6. Carolyn's Essenhaus
If you find yourself near Arlington, Carolyn's is the way to go. Between the homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, and Amish-style goods, you'll find that Carolyn's is impossible to resist once you've been there. Address: 104 Main Street, Arlington, KS 67514
7. Nelson's Landing
If you're a sports fan, this restaurant will feel more home than you'd expect. Unless you don't like the Packers, that is. Their amazing food is one great reason to come, but the other reason is how easy it is to make friends in small towns like this. Address: 107 Erpelding Street, Leonardville, KS 66449
Though it's not in a small town or the country Kansas food we're used to, this restaurant is perfect for one amazing crawfish boil. Don't believe me, just taste for yourself!
