Fall brings many delightful activities, but none are more perfect this time of year than visiting a pumpkin patch and going leaf-peeping. For the perfect fall weekend getaway in Idaho, head to the Idaho Falls area where you can visit one of the most charming pumpkin patches in Idaho and then stay in cozy accommodations surrounded by stunning fall colors. Whether you are young or young at heart, this is one weekend getaway in Idaho that will leave you swooning.
You will begin your weekend at U-Pick Red Barn on Rollandet Street in Idaho Falls, across the street from Tautphaus Park and the Idaho Falls Zoo.
This pumpkin patch is the ultimate place to celebrate all things fall. While you can always stroll through the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin, this is just the beginning of all there is to do here.
Stop by the original barn that was built in the 1930s. Here, you’ll find all types of delicious treats (like the mini donuts!), and you may even get to pet a few small kittens while you are there.
Take a train ride around the pumpkin patch, play on the giant jumper pillow, or head through the kids’ straw maze during your visit.
You can even shoot corn, pumpkins, potatoes, and more out of the 150-mile-per-hour air cannons.
You can easily spend hours at the pumpkin patch, but after a day of fun, it’s time to head someplace relaxing.
Just a short drive outside of Idaho Falls, near Heise Hot Springs, is the Aspen Grove Inn. This unique place to stay is tucked away in the mountains, offering some remarkable opportunities for leaf peeping.
Consider a stay in the lodge, which is the largest accommodation in the area. This is a 1,500-square-foot cabin that has three queen beds and two twin beds.
If you don't need that much space, consider reserving a log cabin. The 400-square-foot cabins feature two queen beds, a shower, and a small kitchenette.
The small cottages are also delightful places to stay and can accommodate up to five guests. These cottages each feature fun themes and have two queen beds and one twin bed.
There are also yurts, glamping tents, and even an RV park. Regardless of what you choose, you'll be surrounded by trees and leaf-peeping opportunities everywhere you look.
Doesn’t this sound like an absolutely delightful way to spend a fall weekend? Pumpkins, vibrant fall foliage, and cozy accommodations — it’s heavenly!
