It’s An Epic Outdoor Adventure At Hot Springs Campground In Idaho

There is nothing like the summer months in Idaho. There are countless activities to enjoy from hiking and fishing to exploring parks and botanical gardens. If you are looking for an epic summer adventure, how about a hot spring soak followed by camping in a gorgeous campground tucked away in the trees? Sounds epic, doesn’t it?

Located just east of Garden Valley, Idaho, along State Highway 17 (also known as Banks-Lowman Road), is Hot Springs Campground. This destination is perfect for some time in nature and a little adventure.

Hot Springs Campground is located along the South Fork Payette River and is a popular destination for kayaking and fishing. It is also the perfect place for a soak in hot springs.

Located on the river, next to the road and easily accessible via a staircase, is a natural hot spring pool. The pool is not large but it is perfect for a small group of adults.

Like with all hot springs, always check the water temperature before hopping in. And please be respectful of others and pick up all garbage before you leave.

Spend some time soaking and relaxing in the water and then head to Hot Springs Campground for an overnight stay.

This campground is tucked away in a forest, with tall pine trees surrounding you, helping you feel disconnected from the real world. Plus, the trees offer some much-needed shade on hot summer days.

This campground isn’t large. It has three group sites and eight single campsites. You can place reservations for the group campsites but all single sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground is open from May to October each year.

Two of the group campsites can accommodate up to 200 people each and the third group site can accommodate up to 50 people. This campground features vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection.

A relaxing soak and an overnight camping adventure — there’s no better way to spend your summer days in Idaho.
