3 Surprising Airbnbs Hiding in Wickenburg, Arizona
Here are three surprising Airbnbs in Wickenburg, Arizona, to consider for your next small-town weekend getaway.
Arizona is full of small towns that are often passed by on the freeway for more popular spots like Sedona, Flagstaff, Page, or Tucson. However, many small communities are worth exploring, whether on a day trip or a weekend. One such place is Wickenburg, a historic Western town in Arizona that was settled by prospectors looking for gold in the mid-1800s. The town was named after one of the first gold prospectors, Henry Wickenburg.
Located west of the I-17 off the 60 freeway, Wickenburg may seem like an out-of-the-way destination, but it's really not. In fact, it's only about an hour away from where I live in North Phoenix. While Wickenburg is a fantastic Arizona day trip destination, if you're looking for a quiet weekend getaway, it's an ideal spot for that, too. Of course, you'll need a place to stay, so I chose three surprising Airbnbs in Wickenburg, Arizona to consider for your next weekend escape.
1. Western Themed Private Bunkhouse
If you love accommodations with a theme, this Western Themed Private Bunkhouse is for you! The studio-style space has a queen bed, a bathroom with a shower, and Western decor galore. In keeping with Wickenburg's horse theme (the town is the "Team Roping Capital of the World" after all), you are also allowed to bring your horse for a stay on the Bunkhouse property as well. There are several horse pens and an arena for you to use at your leisure.
2. Tiny Home Paradise
At only 8.5 feet by 32 feet, this Tiny Home is tiny, but the interior truly maximizes its footprint. There are two beds, one in a loft that can be accessed via a set of stairs and one on the main level. There's also a well-appointed kitchenette, a seating area, and a bathroom with a shower, washer, and dryer. The home can accommodate up to four people. When you head outside, there are four horse stalls you have access to for an additional charge.
3. Mustang Suite - Tiny House
Another tiny home, the Mustang Suite, is located on a ranch with several Mustangs, alpacas, chickens, and ducks. If you love animals, this is the perfect place! The interior of this stylish tiny home is tastefully decorated, and the loft bed is accessed by a narrow staircase with no railing, so you must be careful. If you have no issues climbing stairs, you'll have no problem staying here. Past guests raved about the clean, charming space and the farm animals as well!
No matter which Airbnb you choose, we think you'll have a lovely stay! And if you're looking for more things to do in the area, be sure to visit our itinerary planner to find local recommendations!
