12 Things Everyone Who’s Moved Away From New Hampshire Has Thought At Least Once
If you're lucky enough to live in New Hampshire you should never, ever leave. But sometimes, moving away from The Granite State is unavoidable. When that happens, you're sure to come down with a case of New Hampshire nostalgia. Once you leave you're guaranteed to have at least a couple of these thoughts:
1. "They think that's a view?"
After you've been spoiled with the lakes and mountains of New Hampshire, no other views can compare.
2. "Darn, I hate paying taxes."
Whether it's at the sales counter or out of your paycheck, paying taxes just sucks.
3. "I really need to go for a walk in the woods right now."
The New Hampshire forest is just so soothing.
4. "Why are there so many people?"
You can see more people in an hour in the city than you see in a day in New Hampshire.
5. "Why was I in such a rush to leave?"
There's nothing to make you appreciate your small town more than leaving it behind.
6. "I need to get home for the Fourth of July."
The celebrations in New Hampshire are just unmatched.
7. "No one does fall like New Hampshire."
In other places, fall is the sad time that leads to winter. In New Hampshire, it's absolutely amazing.
8. "You call this a winter?"
In New Hampshire we don't even bother breaking out the shovels until you can measure a snowfall in feet.
9. "I wouldn't want to raise kids anywhere but New Hampshire."
When you have a family, suddenly you want to bring them home.
10. "Life free or die!"
After leaving the Granite State you may be tempted to apply the state motto to a variety of situations.
11. "I miss those New Hampshire stars."
Anyone who lives in New Hampshire has spent many nights gazing at our amazing sky.
12. "Why was I ever annoyed about people stopping to talk to me?"
When you're anonymous, suddenly you miss not being able to go to the grocery store without running into eight people you knew.
