According to a report by U.S. News, Missouri has around 160 hospitals, and of these, two of them are nationally ranked and seven others have been recognized for meeting national high performing standards in other areas. The next time you have an emergency and you need a quick list of the best hospitals in Missouri to consider, this is the list for you.

9. University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics, Columbia
This hospital was ranked at the national level for Orthopedics, with particularly high scores in patient survival, patient volume, nursing intensity, and patient services.

8. Mercy Hospital, Springfield
Rated high performing in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Heart failure. Of note were successful prevention of re-admissions, and patient volume.

This hospital is also high ranking in both

Besides it's Missouri ranking of #5, this hospital is also ranked #2 in the St. Louis area. They are rated high performing in three adult specialties including; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement, with particularly high rankings in the prevention of re-admissions, patient volume, survival in multiple procedures, and prevention of hospital-acquired infections.

This hospital ranked particularly high in Pulmonology, particularly in survival, patient volume, advanced technologies, patient services and trauma care. They also ranked well with adult conditions COPD and heart failure.

This hospital ranked high in 4 adult procedure/conditions including; COPD, Heart bypass surgery, Hip replacement and Knee replacement. 3. Boone Hospital Center, Columbia
This hospital was rated as high performing in 4 adult conditions/procedures including; COPD, heart failure, hip replacement and knee replacement. They scored particularly high performing in accreditation in nursing standards, prevention of re-admission, patient volume, event free admissions, accreditation for high nursing standards, prevention of complications, and survival in multiple procedures.

Our #2 hospital is nationally ranked in 7 specialties including Cardiology and Heart surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat,

They were considered particularly high performing in reputation, nursing, advanced technologies, patient services, and trauma center.
