Get ready, Floridians, because The Equestrian Hotel in Ocala is unleashing something HUGE this holiday season. And by huge, we mean quite possibly the biggest holiday gingerbread house in Florida. That's right, with over 450 pounds of gingerbread dough and over 400 hours of work, this holiday spectacular deserves not just to be seen in person but also to be smelled. See for yourself how this incredible seasonal spectacular came to be.
The Equestrian Hotel in Ocala is a haven for both riders and enthusiasts nestled in Florida's horse country.
However, outside of the charming ambiance and equestrian-themed décor, this hotel turns into a winter wonderland every year with some spectacular seasonal showcases.
This year, the hotel is unveiling a gargantuan gingerbread house, made by a renowned pastry chef, and just wait until you hear the specs on this thing…
The gingerbread house is masterfully crafted, with an emphasis on the little details - from a roof made of 1400 individually cut gingerbread cookies, to poles covered in donut icing and crushed peppermints.
When we say huge, we really mean it. There is over 450 pounds of gingerbread dough, 200 pounds of flour, 120 pounds of brown sugar, 80 pounds of butter, 48 pounds of donut frosting, 40 pounds of molasses, and 13 pounds of eggs.
Executive Pastry Chef Yohann Le Bescond, a finalist in the 2023 Food Network Summer Baking Championship, along with his team, dedicated close to 400 hours crafting this splendid holiday exhibit, pouring their expertise and passion into every detail to bring it to life.
Visitors are able to see the gingerbread house in person, near Emma's Patisserie on the first floor of the hotel.
Have you picked up on the theme of the gingerbread house yet? It’s built as a stadium jump! How fitting.
Taking place now through the end of the holiday season, come see what might be the biggest gingerbread house in Florida, only at The Equestrian Hotel.
What do you think about this incredible display of pastry? Would you visit the hotel to check out this gingerbread house? Sound off in the comments section! You can also visit The Equestrian Hotel website or The Equestrian Hotel Facebook Page for more information about this giant display of sweets. Meanwhile, if you want to turn a weekend out of this adventure, then check out Expedia.com and book a stay at the hotel! In my opinion, this is one of the best hotels in Florida to transform during the holidays month.
