4 Exciting Places in Arizona Everyone Will Be Talking About in 2026
From unique attractions to century-old celebrations, these are the buzzworthy destinations in Arizona that belong on your list next year.
Now that the year is coming to an end, are you making a list of exciting places to visit next year in Arizona? You know, those destinations featuring cultural festivals, milestone celebrations, and one-of-a-kind attractions. These are the places that go above and beyond the typical tourist buzz and shine in their own unique way. If you’re anything like me and looking forward to exploring new or perhaps old favorite destinations in Arizona, check out my list of locations that will be the talk of the town next year.
1. Seligman - Route 66 Charm on Its 100th Year

As part of the 100th Route 66 celebration, expect road trippers, influencers, and small-town lovers to flock to Seligman, Arizona. Sure, the town sees hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, but 2026 will be something to talk about. Mark your calendars starting in January, but head to Seligman in late April to early May for the Seligman Centennial Celebration and the Route 66 Fun Run. Not only will there be new signs unveiled along the iconic road, but there will also be day-long parties, classic car drives, and live events. Beyond the Route 66 Centennial celebrations, I love that this quirky town in Arizona has something fun waiting around every corner.
2. Window Rock - Navajo Nation Strong
You might have visited or heard of Window Rock for its unique sandstone rock formation at the Window Rock Navajo Tribal Park. Of course, the cultural town is mostly known as the capital of the Navajo Nation, making it a significant hub for Native American culture. It’s the kind of destination where visitors can fully immerse themselves in art, oral history, tradition, and local cuisines. With a museum, zoo and botanical gardens, and memorials, the town has something for everyone. One reason to visit in 2026 is to attend the Navajo Nation Fair. The long-running festival attracts thousands of visitors every year and is one of the largest Native American events in the country. In early September, folks gather to celebrate Navajo culture through music, dancing, parades, competitions, arts and crafts, food, and more. This festival is a celebration of the nation’s heritage and pride.
3. Fountain Hills - A Stargazer’s Paradise

Its natural beauty, art and wine scene, and yearly cultural celebrations are enough reasons to visit Fountain Hills. But the coming year will be an exciting time to visit, especially if you enjoy gazing at the stars as I do. Since Fountain Hills is a designated International Dark Sky Community, it’s no surprise that the International Dark Sky Discovery Center will be opening in Fall 2026. Amateur astronomers can look forward to the largest telescope in the Phoenix area, a planetarium, and lots of celestial exhibits. Science lovers from all over the state and beyond will be here this fall for the ultimate stargazing experience. The science center will be a unique attraction in Arizona that the entire family can enjoy.
4. Gold Canyon - A Faire to Remember
What I like most about Gold Canyon is that the community has laid-back mountain vibes, but it’s less than an hour from Phoenix. With access to the mountains and nearby attractions, this town is a great destination for a weekend trip in Arizona. But why visit in 2026? Well, to attend the Arizona Renaissance Festival, of course! As one of the largest Renaissance festivals in the country, this is a must-visit event. Come as you are or dress in your favorite pirate costume to walk through the 16th-century European village of Fairhaven. I don’t know about you, but I love a good jousting match-up, sword fights, and giant roasted turkey leg. You can expect that and more when you visit Gold Canyon on the weekends from the end of January to the end of March.
