The World’s Largest Floating Concert In South Carolina Is Perfect For The Adventurous Soul
South Carolina hosts Drift Jam, the world's largest floating music festival, on Lake Murray every June.
Few people realize South Carolina his home to one of the top floating concerts in the world. The one-day free concert takes place on beautiful Lake Murray and promises a day filled with fun as a variety of music fills the South Carolina springtime air on the first day of June.
Dubbed as The World's Largest Floating Music Festival, Drift Jam features music from several genres.
The annual event takes place on picturesque Lake Murray and is only accessible by way of a floating vessel.
At this unique concert, everything takes place on top of the water. Even the stage floats!
Lake Murray encompasses 50,000 acres so it's important to know where you're headed for this free music festival.
All of the action takes place off of Jim Spence Islands, a series of three small islands in the southeast portion of the man-made lake.
Want to make a weekend of it? Dreher Island State Park, located over on the northeastern shore of the lake, has a campground as well as cabins. Make reservations early because they fill up fast! The state park also has a boat ramp perfect for launching your party barge for the show.
We're curious. This is the sixth year for this free, non-profit music festival... is this the first time you've heard about it? We'd love to know!
