Along possibly the loneliest road in the state, a disappearing hitchhiker is known to flag down cars on rainy or foggy days and ask for a ride. When drivers stop to oblige, the hitchhiker gets in and even carries on short conversation — before vanishing into thin air just before reaching his destination. Some locals believe they know the identity of the disappearing hitchhiker.

Young Agnes who was from Scotland bravely followed her boyfriend, a British soldier fighting in the Revolutionary War, to America. She searched for him in Charleston and in Camden but, sadly, died suddenly before they could be reunited. She's buried in the Presbyterian Church cemetery near Camden. Some people report seeing Agnes' apparition and assume she's still searching for her long-lost love. Sympathetic visitors leave gifts on her marker.

Drive down possibly the most haunted street in South Carolina at night and you may get a glimpse of the legendary Lands End Light.
