Spend a leisurely day at The Philadelphia Zoo, which holds distinction as America's very first zoo. In fact, the popular attraction in Pennsylvania opened on July 1, 1874.
So, where will you start your adventure? The zoo features a slew of exhibits, including the brand-new Penguin Point, the African Plains, and the Outback Outpost.
But, that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Whether you've got kids or not, stop by the KidZooU, which features both indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Of course, be sure to check out the roster of endangered residents, including the Amur leopard, the Chinese alligator, and the Western lowland gorilla.
And, go behind the scenes (additional fee required) with your favorite animal. The behind the scenes experience allows visitors a meet and greet with a giraffe, a giant otter, the big cats, or the Humboldt penguin.
Then, sit down to a meal at Tiger Terrace, Impala Cafe, or the Watering Hole. Or, enjoy a treat from Dippin' Dots, Dairy Barn, or Philly Pretzel Factory.
Plan a visit to the Philadelphia Zoo, open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 31, 2018. Or, visit between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. from November 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019.
