If you grew up in the Homestead neighborhood of Pittsburgh, you’ve probably passed by the old Saint Michael’s Parochial School. Until 1965, the school educated local children. But, from 1965 until the 21st century, it sat empty, awaiting the transformation that would finally come in 2012. Today, the old school – complete with its original chalk boards – houses a delightful sandwich shop that serves sandwiches as well as other mouthwatering meals.
