Mister Rogers certainly earns props as one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved sons. (He’s from Latrobe, but Pittsburgh also claims him as our own.) His legacy is far reaching, with a documentary and a film, based on his life and his work, hitting theaters within the last few years.

If you saw A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, predominately filmed in Western Pennsylvania, you might have recognized The Mandarin Gourmet Restaurant in Pittsburgh. In the scene filmed there, Mister Rogers (Tom Hanks) asks everyone to stop for just one minute to think of those they love who made them who they are today. (The real-life Mr. McFeely, David Newell, and Mister Rogers’ wife, Joanne, are both in the scene). It just might be the perfect scene to reenact as you dine on a delicious meal at the charming restaurant.
