This Historic Pittsburgh Train Depot Is Now A Beautiful Restaurant Right On The Tracks

Pittsburgh's all about legends. And, this historic train depot restaurant in Tarentum also claims its own legend. Photos of a historic train station, believed to be the one that J.G.'s Tarentum Station Grille now occupies, show legendary singer, Frank Sinatra, sitting on a piece of luggage as he awaits his train. While it has never been confirmed — or denied — that Sinatra was actually at the Tarentum station, the historic train depot certainly saw its fair share of high profile visitors during its rich history.

J.G.s Tarentum Station Grille promises a memorable setting — complete with freight trains whizzing by on the tracks out front — and plenty of stories about its rich history.

Built in 1913, the former Pennsylvania Railroad Station sits not far from where Tarentum's very first train station was constructed in 1870. During its storied run, which ended in 1964, the historic train depot hosted numerous high profile passengers — from President Taft to Chief Iron Tail.

The former Pennsylvania Railroad Station opened as the Tarentum Station Restaurant and Lounge in 1984 and closed in 2007.

Since 2008, J.G.'s Tarentum Station Grille has been owned and run by John and Sally Greco.
