Philadelphia is known as the garden capital of the country, and when you take the time to explore the city and nearby towns, it’s easy to see why! For being in such an urban area, there’s so much green space around the city. Just check out these beautiful places near Philadelphia for all the proof you need.

5. Wissahickon Park
Wissahickon Park is right in Philadelphia, but it will make you feel like you've stepped onto another planet. It's stunning in any season and the covered bridges, old buildings and statues, and scenic trails will make this one of your favorite places to explore.

7. Baldpate Mountain
Baldpate Mountain is out in Pennington, New Jersey - about an hour away from Center City. The drive is worth it on a beautiful day! Head up the trail from the Fiddler's Creek parking lot for a moderate hike and a bit of rock scrambling that will lead you to breathtaking views.

8. Longwood Gardens
Longwood Gardens is another stunning DuPont Estate that's right in Kennett Square. The acres of fountains and gardens here are sure to take your breath away. Keep an eye out for their special seasonal exhibits!

9. Hagley Museum
This unique estate and museum shows off early American industry as it was when the DuPont family first settled in Delaware. Located close to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, it's easy to visit all three in a single day. It's also easy to spend an entire day here, though - walking the grounds, exploring the old gunpowder mills, and enjoying the sights along the Brandywine.
