Spring’s arrival usually signals the start of schedules that are even more jam-packed than normal. After all, the warm weather means the return of festivals galore and spending as much time as we can outdoors after a cold and gloomy Pennsylvania winter. Celebrate the beauty of a new season with a colorful spring festival in Pennsylvania - the annual Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival!
For two glorious spring days, the Annual Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival will return to the Horticulture Center and Centennial Arboretum in West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.
Slated for April 13-14, 2024, the beloved spring festival features a full menu of family-friendly activities. You can even bring your pup along, as long as he remains on a six-foot leash.
A stroll through the park offers the opportunity to marvel at the cherry blossoms (don’t forget your camera), but that’s just the beginning of the fun that awaits.
Both days will feature a tea ceremony, ikebana and origami workshops, kimono and yukata dressing, and shogi teaching and playing. Catch one of a day full of performances, on one of two stages, on Saturday and Sunday, or grab a cold drink from the pop-up beer garden.
If you love animals, make sure you stop by on Sunday for the Prettiest Pet In Pink Parade and the Subaru Sushi Samurai of the Year Contest.
Vendors will also be on hand selling everything from authentic Japanese products to food.
Admission to this spring festival in Pennsylvania is free, although donations are welcomed. If you donate, you’ll automatically be entered into a donor’s raffle. One of the prizes is roundtrip airline tickets to Japan.
