11 Amazing Oregon Hikes Under 3 Miles You’ll Absolutely Love
Oregon is full of wonderful hiking trails that lead through just about every type of landscape. From meandering mountaintop trails to lush waterfall hikes, these 11 short trails in Oregon will amaze you through and through.
11. Wahclella Falls
Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Wahclellah Falls is a stunning waterfall you can reach on a 2 mile hike that weaves through the most magical scenery.
10. Drift Creek Falls
Taking a hike on the Drift Creek Falls Trail is a wonderful excursion like no other. This 2.6-mile trail in the Suislaw National Forest leads through woodsy scenery and across a thin 240-foot suspension bridge that overlooks the lovely Drift Creek Falls.
9. Mt Howard Summit
For a unique adventure, take the Wallowa Lake Tramway to the summit of Mt Howard, located in northeastern Oregon. At the top of the mountain you'll find amazing views as well as an easy 1.5-mile loop trail.

This 1.4-mile out and back trail leads through a lush landscape to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire Columbia River Gorge: Elowah Falls.

The hike to the top of Mary's Peak is an easy 1.5-mile excursion where you'll find vast views, picturesque mountaintop meadows, and the most wonderful wildflowers in the late spring and summer months.

Leslie Gulch is a little known hidden gem tucked away in the southeastern corner of Oregon. This otherworldly landscape is a great place to explore. One way to see the area is to take a hike on the wonderful, 2.4-mile Juniper Gulch Trail. I recommend only going when it has been consistently dry; Leslie Gulch is much harder to access when there has been rain in the area.

Located near Crater Lake, Plaikni Falls Trail is a gorgeous hidden gem waterfall in Southern Oregon. An easy two-mile walk on this trail will bring you to a graceful waterfall that pours into a picturesque meadow that's dotted with wildflowers at certain times of year.
3. Chimney Rock
Located in Central Oregon, the 2.6-mile hike to Chimney Rock leads through beauteous high desert scenery featuring stunning views of the Crooked River Canyon and the Lower Crooked River.
2. Mirror Lake
Located in the Mt Hood National Forest, the hike to Mirror Lake is a wondrous 2.9-mile outing that leads to a hidden alpine lake that reflects the summit of Mt Hood and is a great swimming spot in the summertime.

Located near Mapleton, the Sweet Creek Trail is a fabulous, family friendly hike that's 2.2 miles long and features lush woodsy scenery, a glittering creek, charming bridges, and a magical waterfall at the end.
