From skiing (Appalachian Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain Ski Resort) to the south’s largest snow tubing park (Hawksnest at Seven Devils), this town in the Highlands of North Carolina is centrally located to all of them and has so much to offer.

And no visit to Boone would quite be complete without at least one meal at the Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant. In 2019, the eatery celebrates 60 years in business and it's not hard to see why this cozy spot is so well loved. From the minute you walk in, the friendly, no-frills atmosphere begins to creep into your heart.
Family style, if you need a refresher, means several platters and serving bowls are delivered to the table — just like at grandma's house in the good old days. It's hard to find a restaurant today that serves up such delicious comfort food family style.
Each meal starts with a salad (summer) or a soup (winter), then the staff brings out three meats and five sides for the table to share. Among the most popular? The country ham biscuits and their famous fried chicken.
A full breakfast is served on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and dinner is served seven days a week beginning at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are highly recommended, but not required – except on certain holidays.
