Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 and at the time, it was the first and only animal shelter for farmed animals. Today, this is one of two properties owned and managed by this non-profit organization; the other, smaller farm is in Acton, California.
One of the other first things you'll notice is how much space these animals have to relax and graze and to enjoy life. The rolling, green hills in this area are vast and beautiful.
Your tour will begin at the Visitor Barn. You'll meet your guide here and he or she will tell you a bit about Farm Sanctuary's mission before you head out to meet some of the animals.
