Living in New Hampshire, it’s hard not to be enamored by the history of the region – after all, every way you turn there’s a historic building to explore or an amazing story to uncover. And of course, we like our food, especially if it’s made with care from local ingredients. All that said, it’s no wonder that one particular restaurant in Jackson has been receiving plenty of attention – it combines all the best things about the Granite State.
The Thompson Homestead dates back to the very beginning of the 19th century, and was originally a hundred acre farm that covered parts of what are now Routes 16 and 16a. Now, the property holds Thompson Homestead Eatery, a marvelous modern restaurant within the historic buildings. Every inch has been lovingly restored, and the place is beautiful inside and out. In the warmer months, guests love sitting on the delightful patio.
If you're thirsty you can't go wrong either. The Thompson Homestead Eatery bartenders mix a mean cocktail, and their craft beer list is incredibly extensive.
This place is so cozy, and everything on the menu is so tasty, that a trip to Jackson for dinner is well worth it. If you're planning a special romantic dinner, we think this would be the perfect spot!
