Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about waterfalls in West Virginia? We often do, and boy, do we have an adventure for you! Camping is a favorite summer pastime in West Virginia; everyone has their favorite spot, but not every spot has what this campground has: two gorgeous waterfalls! So the next time you're looking for places to camp with waterfalls in West Virginia, you'll be happy to know about Camp Creek State Park.
Tucked away just a few minutes outside of Princeton, West Virginia is a quiet, beautiful, secluded state forest. With miles of trails, nearly a dozen old family cemeteries, and multiple campgrounds, Camp Creek State Park and Forest is one of the Mountain State’s best hidden gems. But, as wonderful as the camping is here, and as wonderful as the hiking is here, the best, most famous feature of Camp Creek State Park in West Virginia is the waterfalls to be found here – two of them in one park, and both delightfully easy to access. In fact, you can catch both the cascades in less than a single morning, with much of the day to spare for other exploring.
Camp Creek State Park is located in Mercer County, a scenic and beautiful region of West Virginia. It is a great place to go camping, but that's not all; this West Virginia State Park also offers hiking, fishing, volleyball, horseback riding, and more.
Best of all, this West Virginia campsite has two beautiful waterfalls.
Mash Fork Falls is closer to the campsite.
It's bigger, but it can also get more crowded.
Farther down the road is Campbell Falls.
Campbell Falls sits near the horse camp, and tends to be a little more peaceful.
Both waterfalls are a great place to wade, swim, or just cool off and relax.
This looks perfect on a hot summer day!
