There’s A Wildflower Garden Hiding On Top Of A Virginia Mountain And You Need To Visit
You may recall a recent topic we published covering the scenic Mill Mountain and its premier attraction, the Largest Free Standing Man-Made Star In The World. There's another attraction featured in the Mill Mountain Park, and it's arguably just as splendid. Atop the mountain there's a gorgeous 2-acre wildflower garden. This special area has been around since 1971, yet relatively few know about this incredible feature. Here's more on the wildflower garden you'll want to visit ASAP:
The Mill Mountain Wildflower Garden is located atop the park's namesake, Mill Mountain. An exact address is 210 Reserve Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
The garden has been established on top of the mountain since 1971. Today, it is overseen by the dedicated Mill Mountain Garden Club.
A centerpiece of Mill Mountain Park, the garden features exquisite varieties of wildflowers, which attract beautiful butterflies during the summertime.
The natural beauty of these flowers is enhanced by other features of the garden, such as the peaceful waterfalls and seated areas for enjoying the view.
Among the colorful flowers, you'll also observe swarths of greenery, such as ferns and impressive varieties of trees.
There are walking trails surrounding the garden and on a foggy day, you might just arrive to an enchanted scene such as this one:
