Tucked away amidst the rolling mountains of southwestern Virginia awaits a beautiful natural space: Hungry Mother State Park. Spanning nearly 3,000 scenic acres, this park is an outdoor enthusiast's dream.
There are several trails to choose from at Hungry Mother State Park, but one of the most popular of them is known as Molly's Knob. The trail is 3.4 miles and rated as moderate.
While the trail itself is lovely and well-maintained, it's the overlook that really sets this adventure apart. With endless mountain vistas, it's easy to see why it's considered one of the best overlooks in Virginia.
Conveniently, there are a couple of benches located at the peak so that visitors can really soak in the scenery.
With views this beautiful, you'll definitely want to plan a picnic to enjoy at the top.
Hikers note that the incline is a bit challenging, but the mountain views make it all worthwhile.
