The Enchanting Frozen Waterfall You Simply Must See Before It Melts Away

Minnehaha Falls in Minnesota transforms into a stunning frozen waterfall during winter, offering breathtaking views and unique ice caves.

Waterfalls are simply amazing, no matter the time of year. Yet there's something truly resplendent about a frozen waterfall. If you've never experienced this spectacle, we've scouted out one of the most magical waterfalls in the U.S. for you to enjoy this season. Bundle up, and let's go check it out!

Minnehaha Falls is one of the most popular places in Minnesota.

Located in the Twin Cities, it is a towering 53-foot waterfall formed as Minnehaha Creek drops into the larger Mississippi River gorge just before it enters the river.

As soon as cooler temperatures arrive...

... the falls slowly begin to morph into something almost otherworldly.

The frozen falls take on a dazzling glacial blue color that draws visitors from all over.

The water is so frozen, in fact, that you can actually walk behind the falls and marvel at the natural ice caves.

This is a great place to come with family and friends.

But be sure to bundle up, because the Minnesota winter weather can be brutal at times.

And be sure to bring your camera!

The scenic waterfall views are incredible, and you will want to capture as many as possible.

So if you can bundle up and brave the cold temperatures promised by a Minnesota winter...

... you're in for a real treat when you visit the iconic frozen Minnehaha Falls.

If you were to do a search for “waterfalls near me,” this spot would most certainly pop up at the top of the list!

These frozen waterfalls can be found within Minnehaha Falls Regional Park in Minneapolis. You can get more information by going to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board website.
