Since 1979, Ham Orchards has been a go-to summer destination for Texans from all corners of the state.

You'll find it on County Road 309 in Terrell.

Peaches are the fruit that started it all, and they're definitely the main attraction.

Approximately 10,000 peach trees of more than 30 different varieties sit on 100 sprawling acres, and harvesting takes place all season long.

Small and large bags are sold in the farm market store, as well as half bushel boxes when surpluses occur.

Don't leave without trying some of the homemade peach soft serve! It's made with only the ripest, most juicy peaches in the orchard, and you'll be amazed at the creaminess in every spoonful.

There are also two blackberry patches, one of which is u-pick.

Availability varies from year to year based on a variety of factors, but you'll hardly ever see completely barren bushes.

You'll also see strawberry ice cream in the farm store, which, along with the peach variety, is sold in pint form in addition to cups and cones.

That way, you can enjoy the delicious frozen treats at home year-round.

If you prefer warm desserts, there's always something in the oven at Ham Orchards.

From pies to cobblers and everything in between, these sweet treats are true labors of love - right down to the homemade crust.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Ham Orchards BBQ by Eddie Deen.

All the usual suspects, like brisket, sausage, pulled pork, coleslaw, potato salad, and - of course - sweet tea, are sold from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. There's even a peach pulled pork sandwich!

Address: 11939 County Road 309, Terrell, TX 75161.

Hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday from mid-May thru mid-August.
