The Hidden Tobyhanna Lake Features Some Of The Most Vibrant Waters In Pennsylvania
With 121 state parks all over the state, it's probably fair to say we can easily overlook some hidden gems. That's the case with Tobyhanna Lake in Pennsylvania, which boasts vibrant, shimmering water that's perfect for boating and for swimming. While it's picture-perfect during the summer months, the lake also draws visitors all year round with its natural beauty.
Gorgeous blue water that shimmers in the golden sunlight defines the 170-acre Tobyhanna Lake, undoubtedly the crown jewel of Tobyhanna State Park in Tobyhanna.
The park offers a full menu of activities, including a beautiful, sandy beach that's open from 8 a.m. to sunset from Memorial Day weekend through the middle of September.
Bring all of your beach gear and stake out a spot on the soft sand on this non-smoking beach. The bathhouse features a bathroom, changing areas, and fee-based showers.
If you prefer playing on the water rather than in it, you're in luck. Bring your own boat, or rent one, which is available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
The park rents kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and paddleboats. You can also set off on an electric motorboat.
Tobyhanna State Park's perfect if you're looking for day trip or an overnight camping adventure. During your visit, you might also want to explore some of its 10 miles of trails.
Wildlife watching, picnicking, and mountain biking are also popular at the park. If you're looking for winter fun, head to Tobyhanna State Park after a fresh snowfall for snowmobiling and ice skating.
