This Hidden Lake In Pennsylvania Has Some Of The Bluest Water In The State

Spending time on or near the water, especially a lake, is never difficult when we live in PA. After all, our home state has more than 2,500 natural and human-made lakes. With all that water, it’s probably fair to say that we’ll miss some of the hidden gems from time to time. Beltzville Lake in Pennsylvania, for example, may be a bit hidden, but it boasts some of the bluest water in the state.

Nestled in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, Beltzville State Park spans more than 3,000 acres and boasts the beautifully blue Beltzville Lake.

At 949 acres, Beltzville Lake offers plenty to do for visitors from Pennsylvania and beyond and is particularly popular in the summer, when beach-goers flock to its sandy beach.

Definitely bring your beach gear along if you’re visiting during the summer. The 550-foot sandy beach is perfect for a little sunbathing or for drying off after a dip in the cool lake.

Even if you’re not up for some time in the water during the warmer months, you can spend plenty of time on the water. Boating and waterskiing are particularly popular on Beltzville Lake.

Consider renting a kayak or a paddleboat during the warmer months to explore the expansive lake. If you prefer sticking to land, you’ll find more than 15 miles of hiking trails, some with spectacular lake views.

Beltzville Lake by no means goes quiet when the harshest months of the year roll around. Ice boaters take to the frozen lake while photographers find it a picture-perfect subject, especially when surrounded by snow.
