This Beautiful Hike In Pittsburgh Has A Mouthwatering Restaurant Right Along The Trail

Hiking promises plenty of opportunities to explore hidden gems tucked in nature. But, sometimes we crave a good hike right in the heart of the city, where we can stop at a restaurant for a break before we continue on our way. The North Shore Riverfront Trail just might be the best hike with a restaurant in Pittsburgh. (In fact, there are several restaurants along the trail, although we’ll just focus on one.)

Work up a hearty appetite as you hike the seven-mile North Shore Riverfront Trail, part of the 25-mile Three Rivers Heritage Trail that's broken into three segments.

Pick up the trail at Millvale Riverfront Park, where you can park your car before heading out on your hike. (Don't forget your water bottle and sunscreen, during the warmer months.)

Then, make your way along the trail that will take you through Millvale and past some of the North Shore's most popular attractions.

Of course, if you have time, you might want to stop at one of the attractions along the North Shore. Visit the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the National Aviary, or Rivers Casino. You'll also stroll by both PNC Park and Heinz Field.

And, by the time you've arrived on the North Shore, between PNC Park and Heinz Field, you'll probably have worked up quite an appetite.

Pull up a chair inside or outside, weather-permitting, at the Southern Tier Brewing Company, a brewery and restaurant that serves classic American dishes.

Of course, you might want to start your meal with a cold drink. One of the beers on tap, perhaps?
