Get Lost In A Field Of Color At This Enchanting Meadow Near Pittsburgh

Most of us have spent long summer days at Boyce Park - swimming in the Wave Pool, hiking the trails, and picnicking. And, of course, winter means skiing or snow tubing on the slopes. But, now, visitors from all over are flocking to one particular spot to admire a meadow bursting with vibrant yellow. Get lost in a field of color at this enchanting meadow near Pittsburgh. (But, hurry before it disappears for the season.)

Nestled in Boyce Park, Indian Hill promises a breathtaking scene, especially the moment you first catch sight of the sea of flowers.

Sprawled across six glorious acres, the Boyce Meadow has blossomed for the first time, drawing visitors from all over.

The meadow, predominately filled with black-eyed Susans, was planted in 2017.

Today, thousands of black-eyed Susans - mixed in with bursts of purple and white flowers - climb Indian Hill, providing the perfect spot for snapshots and selfies.

Follow the pathways that lead into the flowers, interspersed with tall grasses.

Or, simply climb the manicured path that leads to the top of the meadow.

And, at the top of the hill, spread out a blanket for a leisurely picnic and to admire the view.

And, good news! Allegheny County has plans to plant two more meadows in Hartwood Acres and South Park.

But, for now, hurry if you haven't been to Boyce Meadow at Indian Hill yet. Officials plan to mow the meadow, to help with its overall health and ability to mature, soon.

To find Indian Hill, follow the signs to the Ski Lodge. The meadow sits just past the Cub picnic pavilion.
