Autumn's been in the Burgh for quite a few days now and, finally, the leftover heat of summer has started to give way to cool, crisp temperatures. Now that it's starting to feel like fall, we can head outdoors and enjoy all of the fun fall festivities planned throughout Pittsburgh and beyond. If you're on the hunt for a charming, yet low-key way to spend a fall afternoon, plan a trip to this farm near Pittsburgh.
Just a half an hour from downtown Pittsburgh, the charming Hozak Farms welcomes guests to its annual fall festival, held every Saturday and Sunday in October.
Pack everyone into the car, roll down the windows, and enjoy the fall foliage on your drive to the farm.
Then, step up into one of the farm's wagons, which will whisk you straight to the pumpkin patch, brimming with pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colors.
Pick your pumpkins and snap photos with the whimsical decorations dotting the pumpkin patch.
After your return ride, paint your pumpkins, watch the kids get their faces painted, or opt for a hayride through the woods.
Of course, you can also purchase plenty of delicious goodies if you're hungry.
The Fall Festival at Hozak Farms runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. through the month of October.
