The One-Of-A-Kind Nature Center In Oklahoma That’s Like A Mini Zoo
Three Forks Nature Center offers wildlife education and houses rescued animals in a serene setting by Fort Gibson Lake.
The Three Forks Nature Center is located on the banks of Fort Gibson Lake in Sequoyah State Park. This one-of-a-kind nature center is open to the public and has a variety of live animals, interpretive displays, and programs for guests of all ages. It's great because it's like a mini zoo without the big crowds or admission prices.
Three Forks Nature Center is operated under the Sequoyah State Park and is located at 19460 Park 80 in Hulbert. It's a hidden gem that most animal lovers don't know about. There is a naturalist on site to answer any questions you might have.
The nature center is a hub for wildlife education. It's also becoming a prominent place for rescued animals that need a good home.
They have an adorable beaver and otter that were rescued a few years ago. Is that not the cutest face you've ever seen?
You can watch them in their habitat enjoying their carefree life and it's the cutest thing ever.
Last year they also took in a bobcat and a red fox. Once the animals make it to Three Forks, they are here for life so they don't have to worry about reintroducing them back into the wild.
There is also an inside area that has education displays, along with some snakes and other interpretive centers.
Back outside is a hiking trail that is rated as easy. It's only a mile out and back and runs along the lake so it's a beautiful hike year-round.
