Is there anything better than floating down a river in Ohio during the dog days of summer? We are so fortunate that our state has so many phenomenal natural lazy rivers. In other places, people must go to expensive water parks and fight the crowds to experience what we have right here in nature! Check out some of the best spots we've gathered for lazy river tubing in Ohio.
1. Hocking Hills Adventures: Logan
Many people opt for kayak or canoe rentals along the Hocking Hills lazy river, but we've got a soft spot for river tubing in Ohio. Hocking Hills Adventures offers kayaks, canoes, and tubing, so there's something for everyone here. Various trips are available, lasting anywhere from two to five hours. The outfitter is typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, depending on weather and water conditions. Check dates, times, and reservation information on the Hocking Hills Adventures website.
2. Mohican Adventures Canoe Livery and Fun Center: Loudonville
You may be familiar with Mohican Adventures for its amazing adventure park, but you can also enjoy kayak, canoe, raft, and tube rentals here. Enjoy a four-to-five-hour excursion down the Mohican River. Rentals are typically available from Memorial Day until Labor Day, though that is dependent on the weather and water conditions. Visit the Mohican Adventures website for more information.
3. Adventures on the Great Miami: Tipp City
The Great Miami River is one of our favorite spots for tubing in Ohio. Raft, paddle board, canoe, and kayak rentals are also available through Adventures on the Great Miami website. While you're in the area, there's also a floating campground that makes for a unique overnight experience right (literally) on the river!
4. Birch Bark Canoe Livery: Urbana
This outfit offers both a 5-mile and 2.5-mile trip down the Mad River in central Ohio. Learn more on the Birch Bark Canoe Livery website. Once you've finished up with some river tubing, make a tubing and tacos road trip out of the day and pick up some eats at Condado Tacos.
5. Crooked River Adventures: Burton
The staff here will allow you to leisurely float down the Cuyahoga River for one to two hours along this scenic trip. You can rent a kayak, canoe, stand-up paddleboard, or tube. Reservations are not required but are encouraged, all of which you can discover on the Crooked River Adventures website. We've got another great tacos and tubing day trip planned involving Crooked River Adventures!
