Did you know the world's only floating tents are available for camping right here in the Buckeye State? Most people don't. Tucked away in the small city of Troy, Ohio, there are one-of-a-kind floating tents you can camp in at Treasure Island Park - right on the Great Miami River! It's a relatively new attraction that opened to the public just a couple of summers ago. (Note: Reservations are limited. This floating tent camping on-water experience in Ohio is truly unique, and you simply can't find things like this anywhere else.
The Shoal Tents of Troy are the first of their kind.
Imagine floating on the water all night long beneath the stars, letting the river lull you to sleep. During select nights throughout the summer, you can rent these one-of-a-kind campsites. Dates are always limited, so make sure to check the website for the most up-to-date days, hours, and information.
Camping isn't all you do can do here, either! You can also canoe, tube, kayak, or camp on land instead of water with Adventures on the Great Miami.
They also boast an awesome 150-foot-tall slip-n-slide, a rope swing, volleyball courts, and plenty of hiking trails to explore. Please note: Only primitive camping is available here, so make sure to plan things accordingly.
The river trips here are especially fun. Even if you aren't able to rent a tent or camp overnight along the river, you can still take a tube or kayak down the river for an epic summertime adventure on the water.

Each Shoal Tent can fit 3-4 people and each rental comes with one kayak. You can rent additional kayaks from Adventures on the Great Miami. Note: Check-in is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and check-out is at 10 a.m. Life jackets are provided, and guests must sign a waiver upon arrival. Make sure to bring your favorite pillows, blankets, and other comfort items!
