There’s A Restaurant On This Remote Farm Near Cleveland You’ll Want To Visit
Ohio is known for its farm country, but there's a lot more than just cows and corn! Malabar Farm Restaurant is an historic homestead, perfectly preserved in its surroundings. A beautiful white farmhouse surrounded by soft, rolling green hills adds a unique rustic background to your delicious, farm-fresh meal.
Enjoy a beautiful old homestead nestled in the countryside
The building that houses the restaurant was built as a home by a father and his sons in 1820. It was made entirely by bricks built on site. The foundations of sandstone were hewn from rock quarried nearby. Since the 1940s, the building has been part of Malabar Farms.
Most recently, Malabar belonged to Pulitzer Prize winning author Louis Bromfield. He was passionate about fresh produce, and even sold his own, direct from the farm to the consumer.
It was his vision to turn the old brick house into a restaurant. His dream was realized posthumously, and today the restaurant relies on the farm for fresh produce to make delicious home-style meals like you've never had them.
Delight your tastebuds with delicious farm-to-table fare
Malabar's philosophy is that food should be as fresh as possible. This makes for a farm-to-table experience you won't forget. Where possible, everything is prepared fresh and on-site by culinary masters.
They serve lunch, dinner, and dessert, with select wines and seasonal cocktails.
Malabar Farm was acquired as a State Park in the 1970s, which has helped preserve its charm
As if the restaurant weren't enough, you can take tours of the whole property year-round. There are special events like pony rides...
... and hands-on lessons about Native American technologies for maple syrup production.
Climb nearby Mt Jeez for an amazing view of the aptly named Pleasant Valley
And yes, there are also cows
Very cute cows.
This is one dining experience that you won't find anywhere else. Malabar Farm Restaurant is located at 3645 Pleasant Valley Road in Lucas, OH.
