Pilot Mountain State Park is located near Pinnacle, North Carolina. Its main feature is Pilot Mountain, which rises more than 2,000 feet from the valley floor.
This park offers plenty of great hiking trails, but there's one in particular that's short and easy, with a great payoff.
The Little Pinnacle Overlook trail is just 100 yards long. While it has a slight grade, it's a fairly easy trail.
You'll find the trailhead at the Summit Parking Area.
Little Pinnacle Bluff is perched on the side of the mountain, affording some great views of the Big Pinnacle.
You'll definitely want to have your camera at the ready here.
